Its exceptionally low input latencies provide a highly responsive gaming experience. Also, the response time is excellent when gaming at 120Hz, resulting in virtually no blur behind fast-moving objects. It supports FreeSync Variable Refresh Rate Technology (VRR) and, although not officially supported, also works with NVIDIA’s G-SYNC compatibility features. Asus ROG Swift PG32UQ

Unlike most displays on this list, the Aorus FV43U has a VA panel with a contrast ratio beyond what IPS can achieve (at least without a Mini-LED backlight).
Excellent color gamut and accuracy. The monitor’s peak brightness of up to 1000 nits adds vibrancy to HDR gaming. The Aorus FV43U has a refresh rate of up to 144Hz and supports AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, but the response time of the VA panel is mediocre in dark scenes.
This can result in a “bleed” effect behind moving dark objects, thus blending the quality of motion sharpness in this display. HDMI 2.1 support makes the FV43U a natural choice for your gaming console. It also supports DisplayPort, USB-C, and USB-A for wired peripherals. The Gigabyte FV43U is the best 43-inch gaming display on the market.
High contrast ratio, strong peak brightness, and wide color gamut ensure an immersive viewing experience, while 144Hz, VRR, and MBR deliver responsive gameplay. There are common VA panel issues, such as a slight black smear behind fast-moving objects in dark scenes, and some devices are affected by VRR brightness flicker.
There is also a text issue due to the BGR subpixel layout, and gray text appears unclear on a black background at the top of the screen. Depending on your use case, these issues might not be annoying for some users but could be a transaction break for others.
Another alternative is an OLED TV or monitor, but at the time of this writing, the smallest available size is 48 inches, which is too large for most users. OLEDs offer better HDR image quality due to their infinite contrast ratio and no backlight bleed, but they are not as bright as OLEDs and have disadvantages such as the risk of burn-in.

Offering both 10-bit color and a very impressive 98% coverage of the DCI-P3 gamut, the 27GN950 is a very accurate monitor.
It’s as good for content creation as games, and we tend to agree. Add Nvidia’s G-Sync and AMD’s FreeSync adaptive refresh, sleek, slim bezel design, and compatibility with LG’s Sphere Lighting 2.0 RGB visual. And this is a minor issue with a 4K IPS monitor running at full 144Hz playback.
This is an incredibly pretty panel. LG’s default calibration is virtually flawless, with flawless detail on black and white scales. Beyond rigorous metrics, it’s a seriously vivid and punchy display in terms of image quality for Windows desktops.
Jump into the game. We’ll never get tired of the buttery goodness of 144Hz. But when combined with the insanely sharp detail that comes with the 4K pixel grid, it’s pretty special. The problem, of course, is that you’ll need one GPU to get the most out of a 144Hz refresh while running at 4K.
But it’s a little more realistic with the latest graphics cards from Nvidia and AMD. Compared to similar but more expensive screens, the most obvious drawbacks have to do with HDR implementation. The 27GN950 supports HDR, including local dimming and comes with VESA’s DisplayHDR 600 certification. However, local dimming consists of 16 edge-lit areas.
This much more convincing monitor is considered a really good SDR panel. As an HDR display, it’s disappointing. The LG UltraGear 27GN950-B has great IPS image quality and a great panel that delivers beautiful color and contrast in games despite the lower HDR capability. G-Sync and Freesync support ensure stable gaming screens and smoothness, backed by fast refresh rates and response times.
Philips Momentum 558M1RY
The Philips 558M1RY represents a price innovation in the category of jumbo gaming monitors. Except for HDMI 2.1, it brings everything else to the gaming table, with 120Hz, adaptive sync, accurate DCI-P3, and sRGB color.
The 558M1RY is a TV. No tuner, no smart TV app. However, despite Philips touting the monitor as “taking console gaming to a new level,” no HDMI 2.1 supports the new PS5 and Xbox consoles’ fastest frame rates. If the monitor is used with a console, it will be limited to a 60Hz refresh rate unless downgraded to a 1440p resolution that can reach 120Hz. For 4K at 120Hz, of course, you have to use the DisplayPort connection you see only on PCs.
VA panels promise high native contrast ratios and have an extended color gamut and LED edge array backlighting. The brightness of SDR content promised by Philips is 750 nits, and HDR is 1,200 nits, beating VESA’s highest HDR certification, DisplayHDR 1000. You will need 1,000 nits. The 558M1RY has tools to create stunning 4K images.
Gamers will enjoy the seamless AMD FreeSync Premium Pro implementation of the 558M1RY. Compared to the standard FreeSync and FreeSync Premium, FreeSync Premium Pro adds HDR support and low latency in HDR mode.
Philips 55-inch monitor is gigantic. Other than Nvidia’s discontinued BFGD, no other PC monitor can match this beast. However, despite its impressive size and speed, it doesn’t block trading, but there are still downsides to consider. But first good. This 4K VA panel has a DisplayHDR 1000 certificate and can render 3840×2160 native resolution speeds up to 120Hz.
Unfortunately for console gamers, the HDMI version is only 2.0, so next-gen gaming boxes are limited to 4K/60. The Series X hits 120Hz at 1440p, but the PS5 still ignores that option. This shouldn’t be a problem for PC users, as the Philips display supports DisplayPort 1.4, allowing you to get full 4K resolution at a fast 120Hz.
Combined with a bright and vivid panel, it makes the screen suitable for smooth 4K gaming. And I’m still fascinated by Philips’ Ambilight technology. The technology illuminates the back of the display with RGB LEDs that can individually change tint to match the corresponding color of the panel.
To make large panels responsive, Philips offers different levels of SmartResponse, but more aggressive settings for these settings tend to be more ghostly and result in high-contrast video images. When playing FIFA in 4K, I could see issues around the player. But if you’re smashing Doom Eternal, you’ll notice its smooth motion and vibrant colors.
ASUS TUF VG289Q1A 4K Monitor
The ASUS TUF Gaming VG289Q is already on the list of other 4K monitors as one of the best budget choices, so it’s no surprise that it also made a foray into this particular collection. This is one of those low-budget 4K monitors that have a good overall experience for gaming or other everyday tasks. The TUF Gaming VG289Q1A offers many great features, which I think are a good addition to this collection.
ASUS TUF Gaming VG289Q features a 28-inch IPS/W-LED panel. This panel has an aspect ratio of 16:9 and a maximum resolution of 2840 x 2160. It only supports up to 60Hz refresh rates, especially for gaming monitors, which may sound disappointing, but we don’t think it’s necessarily huge.
Consider the low price tag to trade. It’s not surprising to see a 60Hz option in the budget space. We are also seeing a 5ms response time for this panel. This response isn’t the fastest in this collection, but it’s still not a deal-breaker. However, the overall image quality of this monitor looks great.
This monitor is getting good reviews among community enthusiasts, so the overall feel is good. The TUF Gaming VG289Q has a maximum brightness of 350 nits and a contrast ratio of 1000:1. This particular panel also supports HDR, so we recommend enabling Windows HDR to play HDR games or watch 4K HDR content.
The HDR quality may not be as good as a high-end monitor, but I think it provides a pretty good experience for the average user. There isn’t much to say about the design of the ASUS TUF Gaming VG289Q. Because ASUS kept it very simple, like many other ASUS TUF gaming products, this one also has subtle design cues representing gaming DNA.
Unlike many other high-end gaming monitors, you won’t find RGB accents on this monitor. However, this is not bad as most people prefer simple monitors with no RGB bling. The monitor has a large, sturdy stand that adjusts nearly 6″ in height and up to 62 degrees of rotation. As you can see, the bezels around the display are also quite thin. We think this monitor looks great overall.
Best budget HP U28 4K HDR Monitor
All monitors mentioned in this collection are quite good quality, but not all are for creative professionals. Few 4K HDR monitors are suitable for creative workloads at this price point. For anyone looking to upgrade their monitor for a creative workflow, I think the HP U28 is a good choice.
It does the job well and has excellent color fidelity for both sRGB and DCI-P3 color spaces; in terms of specs, the HP U28 sports an IPS panel with a W-LED backlight. We see a 16:9 28-inch panel with a maximum resolution of 3840 x 2160. Like many other monitors in this collection, the HP U28 only supports up to 60Hz refresh rate and 4ms response time.
The HP U28 (1Z978AA)has a maximum brightness of 400 nits and a contrast ratio of 1,000:1. This particular monitor has a very basic design, so there isn’t much talk about it. It has a fairly slim bezel around the display and a basic-looking base. Unlike the Dell monitors we’ve seen before, this monitor has a very simple design overall.
However, it’s not necessarily bad, as you can mix monitors into most setups with no issues. The HP U28 Stand offers a variety of adjustment options. You can also raise the screen to adjust the height or flip it over to put the monitor into portrait mode. The monitor can also be tilted to various angles in any direction. This allows you to fine-tune the monitor to your needs.
Regarding ports, the HP U28 sports a single HDMI 2.0 port and DisplayPort 1.2. Also, this monitor has a USB Type-C port which is great. This Typ-C port provides up to 65W of power delivery so that you can also power your laptop or another device. In addition to the USB Type-C port, the monitor also has a USB Type-A port, which is great.
The overall panel quality of the HP U28 is also pretty good. It defaults to Photo/P3 mode, but you can easily change it without any problems. The default P3 mode itself looks great and is suitable for most workloads. If the sRGB mode is your preferred mode for your monitor, you can easily switch it. The HP U28 offers outstanding panels with high color fidelity covering both DCI-P3 and sRGB color spaces.
The BenQ EW2880U is touted as a versatile 4K monitor that can be comfortably used at the intersection of work and play. Whether you’re updating your spreadsheet, watching a movie, or playing your favorite game, it doesn’t matter. BenQ says the EW2880U is up to the task. You don’t have to dig too deep to cover it.
This is an ambitious undertaking. It’s rare to find a truly all-around 4K monitor. Of course, many 4K gaming monitors are also suitable for business use, but these monitors tend to be expensive. The simple fact is that it’s hard to make an all-rounder at a reasonable price without a few big sacrifices.
Ultimately, the BenQ EW2880U doesn’t completely break the mold, but it’s okay. It’s not a complete package, but it’s still a fully capable 4K monitor at a good price. The EW2880U also supports HDR10 decoding, but no official VESA DisplayHDR certification exists. There’s a dedicated button to activate HDRi, which adjusts the HDR’s brightness, contrast, and color temperature to match the ambient lighting in the room via a built-in sensor in a small black bar at the bottom of the screen.
On the back are two HDMI 2.0 ports, one DisplayPort 1.4 port, one upstream USB-C port capable of 60W power supply and carrying video signals, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. BenQ’s marketing collateral depicts the EW2880U next to a PlayStation 5, but without HDMI 2.1, this monitor won’t be able to take full advantage of the new console.
The stand offers 15 degrees of tilt backward, 15 degrees left and right swivel, and 100mm height adjustment. In the box is a remote control for switching sources and adjusting volume and image, along with a power cable, HDMI 2.0 cable, and USB-C to USB-C cable. The EW2880U is a sturdy product with a minimal stand shake and discreet design. Leathery brown accents may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but I like them.
It’s always nice to see a USB-C port on a modern monitor, especially one that aims to appeal to as many people as possible. I also like the remote control. It will greatly benefit anyone who uses a PC as an entertainment center and simplify navigating the on-screen display and adjusting the volume. Come to think of it. I was satisfied with how good the twin 3W speakers of the EW2880U sounded. They move loudly and carry more weight than them.
Amazon Fire TV 75-inch Omni Series 4K UHD
The Amazon Fire TV Omni Series is a very basic entry-level 4k TV. It is one of the first Amazon-branded TVs and the Amazon Fire TV 4 series. Slightly improved from the 4 series with support for Dolby Vision at larger sizes and better build quality. Suitable for dark rooms with good contrast and good black uniformity.
Bright enough to handle glare in most rooms unless you have a lot of natural light. There are a lot of streaming apps out there, and any source can get rid of the judder you don’t often see on 60Hz TVs. The remote has built-in voice control, and the TV has a microphone for hands-free control.
Unfortunately, it has many of the same flaws as the 4 Series. The basic white balance correction system alone provides disappointing accuracy. It also has a slow response time, resulting in a noticeable blur behind fast-moving objects. The Amazon Fire TV Omni Series is a decent TV overall.
Excellent contrast ratio, great for watching movies in dark rooms. It’s a good choice for watching TV shows in a bright room, but its slow response time makes it unsuitable for sports or video games. Sadly HDR doesn’t add very much to movies or games as it can’t be very bright in HDR and can’t display a wide color gamut. Finally, we do not recommend using a PC as the text looks blurry.
From an aesthetic point of view, Amazon isn’t trying to do many mundane things with Omni TVs. The 43-inch, 50-inch and 55-inch models have black bezels on all sides and black U-shaped legs that support the TV near the outer edges, while the 65-inch and 75-inch models have silver bezels along the bottom of silver. Feet.
All models have a built-in microphone for Alexa at the bottom of the screen. When you hear the word wake up (Alexa for most people), it lights up, and you can talk like any other Echo device. Turn the TV back, and you’ll find many ports. There are three regular HDMI 2.0a ports and one HDMI 2.1 eARC port that you can use to connect your soundbar.
More HDMI 2.1 ports would be better, but considering this is only a 60Hz television, that’s not that important. From a panel design point of view, you are looking at a direct sunlight LED-LCD screen. Without local dimming, the whole package is broken.

Features are a bit of a mixed bag for the Amazon Omni TV.
