The display has very thin bezels, giving the user the impression that it is larger than it is.

With a compact design, this monitor takes up little space on your desk and uses a thin chassis to easily mount to a wall or stand via the available VESA holes. The 24B2XH monitor weighs less than 6 pounds, so it’s easy to carry and eliminates the need for a beefed-up desk.

The AOC’s build quality isn’t great, with the thin plastic being a bit thin and brittle, so you have to be careful not to tip it over. It still uses the OSD buttons, but at this price point, I can’t complain. Based on the AU Optronics’ VA (Vertical Alignment) panel, the LG 32GN650 monitor boasts a high static contrast ratio of 3,000:1, enabling deep blacks with vivid details in image shadows.

When set side-by-side with an IPS panel monitor, the blacks on the IPS models are grayish. However, the LG 32GN650 specified viewing angles of 178° both horizontally and vertically, but not as wide as an IPS panel. There is no sharp gamma shift when viewing the screen from below or from above, as is the case with TN panels, but the image degrades at an angle.

As long as I’m sitting in front of the monitor, viewing angles aren’t an issue except for subtle gamma/saturation shifts. But this mainly affects people whose work is color-critical. The monitor’s peak brightness is 350 nits, which is good enough in normal lighting conditions.

Unlike most 32-inch 1440p 144Hz curved gaming models, the LG 32GN650 doesn’t have a wide color gamut. It covers 95% of the sRGB color space, so you get accurate colors without oversaturation when watching sRGB content (most games and web content), but some users may have preferred the extra color vibrance, albeit less accurate.

High Dynamic Range (HDR) is also supported, but the monitor can only receive and display HDR10 signals. It lacks decent display features like local dimming and a wide color gamut for a noteworthy HDR viewing experience.

Performance
The 165Hz refresh rate ensures buttery-smooth motion sharpness as long as you can keep up with high frame rates, but there’s no noticeable difference compared to 144Hz.

There are four response time overdrive modes: Off, Normal, Fast, and Faster. If your scene contains a lot of dark pixels, you’ll notice dark bleeding because the pixels can’t change from dark to light fast enough to keep up with the refresh rate.

This is common for VA panel monitors, at least in this price range, and is why competitive gamers avoid them. For casual gaming or users not sensitive to ghosting, this is tolerable or negligible. On the other hand, the input lag is imperceptible at ~4 ms, so you won’t notice any lag between the action and the screen result.

Design and Connectivity
The monitor’s stand is sturdy and offers a decent range of ergonomics, including -5°/15° tilt, up to 110mm of height adjustment, 90° pivot, and 100x100mm VESA mount compatibility.

Thanks to the monitor’s matte anti-glare finish, there are no annoying reflections, and the bezels on the sides and top of the screen are very thin. Connectivity options include two HDMI 2.0 ports (limited to 144Hz), DisplayPort 1.4, and a headphone jack.

Due to its slow pixel response, we don’t recommend the LG 32GN650 if you play a lot of fast-paced competitive games or are sensitive to ghosting.

Also, it is not recommended for those who are sensitive to screen tearing even at 165Hz, as there is a possibility that the VRR brightness may flicker and forcibly disable FreeSync or ‘G-SYNC compatible’.
